The Plunkett Foundation supports mainly rural communities to set up and run co-operatives for their community.
These can include pubs, cafes and shops. The aim is for the co-operative to be profitable with members being able to decide on a dividend, and whether to reinvest it, distribute it to community projects, or make a payment to members.
