Community Right To Bid

Useful Links: Community Right To Bid

In September 2012 the Coalition Government entered into law the Community Right to Bid. This empowered parish councils and communities to nominate land and buildings, including pubs, for listing by the local authority as an Asset of Community Value.

The right is extended to privately owned assets.

It permits the community to delay the sale of a useful local asset, giving them some time to mount an attempt to purchase it.
