Big Bournemouth Beer Festival 2016

It’s back for it’s seventh year: the Big Bournemouth Beer Festival.

The event will be held over the Easter weekend in March from Friday the 25th to Sunday the 27th, at the BIC Purbeck Hall.

The festival will sport a wine bar, a cider and perry bar, traditional ales, and seasonal and novelty beers.

Friday Evening:         6.30pm – 11.30pm
Saturday Afternoon: 12pm – 5pm
Saturday Evening:    6.30pm – 11.30pm
‘SUP-Up Sunday’:     3pm – Finish

    Bierfass Band is a group of Dorset musicians playing a unique mix of Bavarian/Austrian polkas, waltzes and drinking songs combined with British pop and other well known songs. The band is named Bierfass from the Bavarian for Beer Barrel and recreates the fun and atmosphere of the Bavarian bierkellers. The result is a foot stomping, thigh slapping, singing and dancing oompah band.
    Dressed in traditional costumes the twelve piece band consists of trumpets, trombones, euphoniums, sousaphone, horn and percussion. Audience participation plays a major part in the bands performances with music performed on a blacksmith’s anvil and an alpine horn. At appropriate events the band recreates an old German wedding custom, the tradition of cutting a log. Sawing through the log represents the first obstacle that the couple must overcome in their marriage. The band plays whilst a couple chosen from the audience saw through the log in time to the music.
    The band is available for weddings, birthday parties, BBQ’s , beer festivals, Oktoberfest and summer shows. At larger music festivals Bierfass are the ideal crowd pleaser between headline acts
